Black Unity Bike Ride

Black Unity Bike Ride is more than a ride — it’s a movement. Born on the streets of London, we’ve grown into a nationwide and international celebration of Black empowerment, unity, and joy on two wheels.

From our 6th annual Carnival on Bikes in London to our first-ever ride in Manchester, we’re connecting communities across the UK — and we’re just getting started.

And the movement doesn’t stop here. Through BUBR Africa, we’ve taken the spirit of the ride across the continent — with past trips to Ghana, Rwanda, and South Africa. In 2026, we head to Senegal, continuing our mission to connect the diaspora through cycling, culture, and purpose.

Wherever you ride — whether you're a regular cyclist or just getting started — if you believe in unity, empowerment, and love, you're already part of the journey.

One movement. Many cities. Bound by unity. Powered by us.

WHY DOES BUBR EXIST?

  • There is under-representation of Black cyclists at all levels of the sport within the public domain, from elite level to grassroots.

  • According to Sport England data, only 27% of U.K. Black communities participate in cycling – which is lower than nearly all other ethnicity groupings. When it comes to all sporting activity, Black communities have the lowest level of participation across all ethnicity groups at 49%.

  • BUBR provides a safe space where cyclists and riders from diverse backgrounds can feel welcomed and also inspired to get active and remain so.
